Upper Grade Strings Teacher

Madrona School is a Waldorf school located in the heart of downtown Bainbridge Island. We are a small, close-knit community seeking a part-time Strings Teacher to join our faculty and support our vibrant music program.

Our grades curriculum offers a classical education through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates storytelling, movement, music, and the arts into daily learning. Beginning in 4th grade, all students participate in strings instruction and learn to play the violin, viola, or cello.

We are seeking a teacher with experience in violin instruction (required), with additional experience in viola and/or cello considered a strong plus. The position includes two classes (Grades 4–6), each meeting twice weekly between 12:00–3:00 PM for 45-minute sessions.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience teaching group string classes, ideally with children ages 9–12

  • Proficiency in violin; ability to teach viola and cello is a bonus

  • An appreciation for Waldorf education and a collaborative teaching style

  • A nurturing, engaging presence with a love of music and children

Part Time Preschool Assistant

Madrona School, a Waldorf school located in downtown Bainbridge Island, is seeking a part-time Preschool Assistant to join our early childhood team. This role supports our fully outdoor preschool program, working with children ages 2½ to 4.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Monday–Wednesday or Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Compensation: $25.00/hour

  • Program Dates: Late August 2025 – Early June 2026

We’re looking for someone with patience, warmth, and a genuine love for young children. While prior experience is welcome, it is not required—training will be provided. A commitment to the full school year is expected.
